Behind the Scenes of Super Bowl LVII

The 2023 Super Bowl had took the help and coordination of thousands of people to pull off such a big event. Behind the scenes of the big game were many different aspects of the overall event. Watch the video and listen to the podcast below to hear about the environmental and ASU elements of Super Bowl LVII.

Environmental Efforts from the City of Phoenix

Super Bowl LVII set multiple records for the City of Phoenix. It brought the most people through the Sky Harbor Airport in history as well as being the greenest Super Bowl ever. One of the ways the Public Works Department was able to achieve this was through the Zero Waste Ambassador program. The Zero Waste Ambassadors were able to sign up to volunteer online and had to be at least 18 years old. In total there were 51 volunteers that worked throughout downtown Phoenix. They helped set up and manage recycle and compost bins in the area to encourage the diversion of waste away from landfills. Watch the video to hear more about the program from the Zero Waste Coordinator Alexis Yaple.

ASU Student Experience with Super Bowl LVII

Listen to Jeneca Kostad, a senior at ASU, share her experience with working Super Bowl LVII. She was able to join over 100 students at the multiple events and the big game working event management to help make sure things ran smoothly. They were able to have this opportunity through the Cardinals Rotational Program class offered during the fall semester and ran by Erin Schneiderman.
